Yulia is missing.

Yulia Solodyankina is from Moscow studying in Edinburgh. She hasn't been seen for 14 days. She was last seen leaving the Wee Red Bar in Lauriston Street on the 6th of June. She could be anywhere in the UK or abroad. Please keep your eyes open for her and keep her in your hearts and prayers.

Cafe Turquaz, a mediterranean style cafe at 119 Nicolson Street is my favourite. It serves all the usual coffees, great Turkish coffee, Turkish apple tea, mezze, felafel, salads, panini, moussaka and a fabulous selection of cakes.

Here are two of the people who run it and make it a lovely, friendly, relaxing place to visit.

Free enterprise.
The High Street.

Edinburgh City Council have been rummaging in the basement recently finding statues to
dot all over in places that never had them before.

Little does it get better than a pretty girl offering you something good to eat.
Morningside yesterday. And, yes, I did ask her if she minded being on my blog. She kindly didn't mind at all.

Paramedic at the coffee kiosk.
Good thing too. I don't trust decaffeinated people.

The Artist

IMG_1902

It starts on a Saturday morning when Kevin Harman, MFA, finds an interesting
skip and the workmen are off for the weekend. By Sunday evening
he has reworked the contents and arranged a 'gallery opening'
so that people can mill round, examine the new sculpture, drink beer
and discuss the meaning of art. Kevin has done this in various countries
and with a grant from Richard di Marco will be doing it more in Poland.
